And I'm back, last two weeks I'd been really busy with lot many things...besides the ups and downs the City saw during the last Bomb explosions in City. These explosions claimed over 65 lives, but more than that it devastated thousands of dreams which have been engaged with the people who died, while these explosions may have claimed lives, One thing these acts could not do was to take the confidence of Jaipurites…I'm proud of my city and my people here, after the explosions the whole city came out to help the victims..the moment it was aired in the News that theirs a shortage of Blood in the hospitals Me and my brother went to our City SMS Hospital &what we saw was unbelievable I saw thousands of people coming from every part of city to donate their blood even at the midnight. what I saw was something I'll never forget, The entire emergency unit of our City Hospital was in blood stains of the victims. while this was horrifying what was pleasing at the time of crisis was to see the people of all religion all castes and all ages were their to help the victims, I saw families coming to donate the blood, I saw people coming with water bottles, with food packets and all were eager to help. I'll never forget this, it reminds me how much fragile & important life is..and how much its important to live the life for others. And now the city is recovering.life is back to normal and everybody is trying to forget that day as a bad dream and we wish none of us sees any such things in life again.

I could not end this topic without expressing thanks to the wonderful people we have at WIPL, even when the curfew was announced in the city next day following to explosions we saw our team members turning up to office early morning to ensure that they are at office before the police patrolling would start, others who could not come up were managing the show remotely and continued working to ensure our customers are not affected by this. What they all did reminds me that Successful companies are not made of Bricks, Buildings or Money, its made up of people....at WIPL we have such people & I'm proud of them.

Apart from the tragic incident at the City..we had been busy with the migration of couple of our Linux Machines which had been getting old..so what actually goes OLD at WIPL, we typically replace our hardwares in a period of 30 to 36 months. Logic behind this is that we are very much quality conscious, hard drives are the most sensitive and critical part of the server. Ask any server admin and he won't shy to tell you that his worst nightmares are about hard drive failures. If the MOBO of a server fails it can be replaced within a period of 30 -60 minutes, so typically you see that much downtime..if a hard drive fails then it extends into hours unless you are on Raid systems. Hard drives involves moving parts which are prone to wear and tear with the continuous usage...a new and updated hardware means you are going one step further to protect your customers from potential problems an old hardware can bring...though it may cost much, the investment in better hardware & better network always pays well.

AT WIPL we always choose networks which are rock solid, branded hardwares & the best infrastructure to support it..the result is an unmatched uptime and an unshakable performance. I would not hesitate when I say that today we match and beat almost every web hosting company in India in terms of uptime, we are far far ahead of them in terms of our responsiveness and much better in terms of customer support.

So finally the Linux Server migrations are over, the new Big Beast Boxes, the most powerful breed servers are now roaring with pride. The new boxes we just took are with 8 Processing Cores on Intel Harpertown Processors & 8 GB of Ram on each machine and perhaps one of the most powerful boxes you'll see around. Migrations are always tough, time consuming and very sensitive in nature. We realize that we are working over people's data which is very critical and we have to ensure we migrate very bit of it without any downtime and just like every time we did it this time as well. So now the migrations are over and we are back with a lot of things waiting to be launched...so stay tuned & shortly I'll be taking you towards the Journey to the WIPL Vision.

Till then Enjoy & celebrate your life…every moment is worth celebration !
